Mabel L Adjei
With over 23 years of experience in public financial management, she currently serves as Deputy Head Accountant and Diplomat at the Ghana High Commission in London, where she oversees government financial operations abroad, ensures compliance with international financial standards, and supports bilateral programmes that strengthen Ghana’s international partnerships.
Prior to her diplomatic service, she held senior positions within Ghana’s civil service, including Senior Accountant at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and played key financial management roles in major national initiatives such as the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Urban Sanitation Project and the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Project, supporting budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, and oversight of public expenditure for key development programmes.
She holds an MBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting, and has undertaken executive training at Yale School of Management, MIT Sloan School of Management, and Temple University, strengthening her expertise in leadership, public finance, and global policy practice. She also completed the Financial Management for Policymakers programme at King’s College London under the Ben Delo Commonwealth Leadership Programme, enhancing her capacity for strategic budgeting, policy-driven financial frameworks, and evidence-based financial decision making.
A committed public servant and mentor, she remains dedicated to strengthening public financial management practices, supporting sustainable policy implementation, and contributing to effective resource allocation for national development and across the Commonwealth.
